Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Leh (Acclimatization Day)

Route: Airport → Leh city
Altitude: 3,500 m
Activities:
Check in and rest to avoid altitude sickness.
Evening: Shanti Stupa (sunset view), Leh Palace, Leh Market.
Tip: Avoid alcohol, heavy meals, and strenuous walking.

Day 2: Leh Local Monasteries & Palaces

Route: Leh → Hemis → Thiksey → Shey → Sindhu Ghat → Leh
Driving: ~80 km round trip, 4–5 hrs
Highlights:
Hemis Monastery – Largest in Ladakh, 12th-century architecture.
Thiksey Monastery – Resembles Potala Palace of Tibet.
Shey Palace – Summer palace of Ladakhi kings.
Sindhu Ghat – On Indus River banks.

Day 3: Leh → Pangong Lake → Leh

Route: Leh → Chang La (5,360 m) → Pangong Tso (4,350 m) → Leh
Driving: 7–8 hrs round trip (~320 km)
Highlights:
Chang La Pass – 3rd highest motorable road.
Pangong Lake – Famous for its color-changing waters.
Tip: Carry packed food; very few restaurants en route.

Day 4: Leh → Nubra Valley

Route: Leh → Khardung La (5,359 m) → Diskit → Hunder
Driving: 5–6 hrs (~120 km)
Highlights:
Khardung La – Once the world’s highest motorable pass.
Diskit Monastery – Giant Maitreya Buddha statue.
Hunder – Sand dunes and Bactrian camel rides.
Stay: Nubra Valley.

Day 5: Nubra → Leh

Route: Nubra → Leh via Khardung La
Driving: 5–6 hrs (~120 km)
Activities: Return to Leh, shopping at Leh Bazaar, Tibetan handicrafts.

Day 6: Departure

Airport drop.
